1 Month Jackson review

So, my son is 1 month old already, the typical response: "Only crap time goes by fast." So I will spare you that line and just ramble about my thoughts.

We are getting more sleep that I had imagined, don't get me wrong, we are not sleeping through the night, but I was prepared for the worst, long nights of him crying, but that has yet to happen: knock on wood. He is sleeping 2-3 hours, and Emily and I rotate who gets up. 98% of the time he is fed, changed and back in bed within 15-20 minutes, so we really can not complain too much at all.
Grandma Pancio has taken Jackson 2 nights, which was nice to get a full nights sleep. Moma (Grandma Tyler) has been a huge help around the house and with Jackson. Both Grandma's are getting lots of quality time with Jackson, which is very important to Emily and myself.
This first month he doesn't do much, besides eat, sleep and crap...and crap he does. ha. The other day he did smile at me, which was just amazing. I played with his hair and said, "HI" and he smiled real big. Then I did it 3 or 4 more times, each time producing a smile. So I like to believe he was not just pushing out a big dump.

Emily and I were talking yesterday coming back from our Day Trip to the Lake, and our lives have not been drastically over turned like so many people predicted. We don't sleep as much, and we have less money, but we still get out, and Jackson just comes along with us, he really is a GREAT baby, I feel so blessed to have him.

Night #4

I have to raise a 49er fan so I have someone to watch football with me!

So, I sit here on the couch watching the end of the Cardinal game with Jackson sleeping next me, waiting for him to wake up to be fed so I can go to bed. I have a few minutes to reflect on our new life's and my brief career as a Father.

So far, Jackson has been a perfect angel...so far. He sleeps for 3-4 hours, craps himself, wakes up to be fed, craps himself again and is back asleep. The picture is Jackson down in the Man Cave sleeping while Ben Newcomb and I played Ping Pong for a few hours.

Emily and I both have gotten plenty of sleep, luckily for me, I stay up late anyway...so far it is working real well.

We took Jackson on his first walk tonight, nothing crazy happened, he did crap his pants on the walk, but that is what he does...a lot...

Emily update: She is doing great, up moving around, running errands, just perfect. She is a stud. May 14th she has to go back to have her Gall Bladder removed, which should be a routine surgery, but still another thing she has to deal with.

So, those are the updates for now.

Welcome to the World Jackson!

This will be the home for all of Jackson's news and updates. I will post pictures here and things going on. To respect all my facebook friends, I will not be posted daily Jackson updates there.

So, let's begin....Introducing Jackson Eugene Tyler. Born 4/29/2011 at 8:17 am. Weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long.

Here is the labor story:
We had a schedule inducement for Thursday, 28th. St. John's called about 1:30 and told us to head on in.
At 4:30 they gave her a cytotec, which is a pill that thins the uterus. The concept of cytotec is to have a pill once every 4 hours for up to 16 hours, then actually start the inducement.
Luckily for us, her water broke around 8:30 and then heavy contractions start. We had a rough hour until the epidoral was put in, and then everything was perfect. We got a little bit of sleep that night, and around 7:00 it was time to push.
Emily did a great job, pushed for an hour, and Jackson was not moving past her pelvic bone, so the doctor got the suction cup and sucked him on out.
The whole labor experience was a great one. We had not know what to expect, the pain that Emily we endure, etc. St. John's staff was wonderful and made the whole experience perfect. I will say, The epidoral was one the best things ever invented. It made the labor experience almost fun. I could not imagine having Emily have those contractions for 12 hours. We had an hour and it sucked.

This is our first night home and so far Jackson is doing great. He is really quiet, only fussing when he is hungry, and then just goes back to sleep. We couldn't have asked for a better baby. We will see how the week progresses though.
But no matter how bad he gets, we have to remind ourselves to focus on the positives and how blessed we are to have a healthy good looking baby.

Before he was born, I was hoping not to have an ugly baby and blonde hair. For some reason I think Blonde Hair babies are super cute. And he has blonde hair...for now... and we think is the most handsome baby ever...just a little biased though.

We have our first doctor appointment Monday at 1:00, as just a check up. I will go back to work on Wed, and split Wed, Thursday and Friday with Mom, so Emily has help.

So, keep checking in for pictures, I will be posting them.

Thanks for all the love and support!
